Project Heroes

In memory of the heroes and heroines of October 7th & the "Iron Swords" war

Since the tragic events which occurred on October 7th , known as "Black Saturday", a series of heroic
narratives has unfolded, revealing stories of courage and resilience, with each article and post shedding
light on extraordinary acts.

Touched by the endless tales of courage and moving events, I began crafting poetic tributes, honoring the brave heroes who chose to save the lives of others at all costs. The poems were shared across various
platforms and generated widespread attention, so the next natural step for me was to bring them to life
and create a musical album. The album, a testament to these heroes' spirit, is now in the making in
collaboration with producer Gilad Shmueli.

The One Who Stayed

In Memory of Liron Barda

by Gilad Segev

The project's first musical piece, "The One Who Stayed" honors Liron Barda's memory, who attended the Nova music festival – a festival known for peace lovers and a symbol of joy and unity.

Sadly, the event held during Sukkoth, transformed into a scene of horror. Liron made a choice to stay and care for the wounded during the surprise invasion, reflecting her resilience and selflessness.

"The One Who Stayed," transformed into an emotionally charged music video, enriched by photographs, provided by Liron's family. Liron's selfless actions during incredibly tough times are memorialized in the composition and mesmerizing music video, which blends documentary photography and AI animation.

"With Bare Hands"

In memory of Yonatan Elazari

by Gilad Segev

"With Bare Hands" is the second song from the "Project Heroes”. It was written in memory of Yonatan Elazari – a 20-year-old from Alon Shavut who served  in the esteemed Dovdevan unit. On Simchat Torah weekend Yonatan chose to confront the attackers unarmed, with stones, rather than seek safety.

His resourcefulness saved lives as he aided the wounded and faced the terrorists.

The one who stayed

When they stormed in
On chariots of hate
She is the one who stayed
The one who stayed
With no weaponry
No shield for protection
Only armed with the power to heal
The power of love.

And she could have fled, yet chose to stay
She could have fled, yet chose to stay

Because fire may claim a life
But it won't extinguish the flame
Fire will not harm the one
Who transformed into love
Time will pass, time will return
And she'll remain the one who stayed
The one who stayed

When they invaded
Those envious monsters
She is the one who chose
The one who chose
To save lives
To touch humans
Humans of love that she loved
In the eye of the storm

And she could have fled, yet chose to stay
She could have fled, yet chose to stay

Because fire may claim a life
But it won't extinguish the flame
Fire will not harm the one
Who transformed into love
Time will pass, time will return
And she'll remain the one who stayed
The one who stayed

With Bare Hands

in memory of Jonathan Elazari
Lyrics: Gilad Segev
Composer: Gilad Segev and Gilad Shmueli

Jonathan
Sitting in a room
With all of his friends
Suddenly he hears shouting
It is a shootout

He knows it's time to go
His time has come

 Just like King David
He picked the stone
Climbed the walls|
Hovered over rooftops
Lit the way for them
Facing fire arms
With bare hands

 Jonathan
Makes sure time is still passing by
Keeps the heart beating on
He does not leave his friend
And then he says:

Have no fear
You are not alone
Don't be afraid,
don't be afraid

Just like King David
He picked the stone
Climbed the walls
Hovered over rooftops
Lit the way for them
Facing fire arms
With bare hands

 Just like King David
He picked the stone
Climbed the walls
Hovered over rooftops
Lit the way for them
Facing fire arms
With bare hands

Just like King David
He laid on a rock
Smiled at what is coming next
Welcomed the ancestors
Who showed him the way
And caressed his face
With bare hands
